Dr. Jacqueline Whittemore, in combination with KARL STORZ Veterinary Endoscopy America, is pleased to offer an innovative course designed to cultivate expertise in diagnostic endoscopy.

It provides in-depth online training in flexible and rigid scope anatomy, handling and cleaning; laser physics, handling and safety; intracorporeal laser lithotripsy; cystoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, laparoscopy and associated advanced procedures. Information covered includes equipment required, case selection and anesthetic considerations, procedural techniques, tips and tricks, and complications. To meet the varied needs of practitioners, the course is available in both an Online Only Course and an Integrated Course format.

ONLINE ONLY COURSE:

This course is designed for those wishing to achieve in-depth endoscopic online training from the comfort of their home. Modules include flexible and rigid scope anatomy, handling and cleaning; laser physics, handling and safety; intracorporeal laser lithotripsy; cystoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, laparoscopy and associated advanced procedures. INTEGRATED COURSE (Online & In-person)
(56 CE hours – Fall Course & 64 CE hours – Spring Course)
:

Integrated Courses are available for individuals desiring to achieve specialist level proficiency within the time frame of the course. Didactic material is administered online (20 CE hours) prior to the start of laboratories. Onsite laboratories focus on maximizing ‘scope time’, with lectures limited to group debriefing sessions. A mixture of dry, cadaveric, and live animal laboratories is used to facilitate mastery of presented material, with the expectation that participants will be ready to ‘Scope On!’ upon course completion. The fall offering includes 4 days (36 CE hours) of onsite training, during which participants cultivate proficiency in tower management, flexible and rigid scope handling, as well as instrument handling and cleaning; laser physics, handling and safety; laser lithotripsy; cystoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, and associated advanced procedures.

The spring offering adds a 5th day of laboratory training in laparoscopy, for a total of 44 laboratory CE hours. An example of the onsite laboratory training schedule follows:
